When you become a member of our online coaching program, we will take you through a detailed on-boarding process. The initial step involves completing an application form which is required to book for an no-obligation 20-minute consultation call [via. Skype, Facetime etc.] with a coach from Team AX. Once we receive your application form, we will respond to you via email to book you in for your consultation. During the call we will dig deeper on training objectives, training experience and where we to go from here. This will help us get to know each other.
After signing up, we will set you up with a training profile will be set up on our cell phone app, so you can install the app and log on. The initial training sessions prescribed in your program is a fantastic opportunity for your coach to assess your technical and physical ability. The content of these initial sessions will vary depending on your training objectives. Your coach may request you to take exercise videos of specific exercises during this session. After theses sessions, your coach will get to work constructing your program and individualizing it based on your training goals, injury history, competition calendar, available equipment, technical ability, individual strengths, and weaknesses and personal preferences.
The program is then uploaded to your profile on the Athletes Xcel app, which will have your sessions scheduled in your training calendar. The app is easy to use, allowing you to follow your training program. The program is packed with exercise videos and exercise technique descriptions to aid your understanding of what is expected from you every session. The app will allow you to stay disciplined and accountable by tracking your training, logging your progress and ease of communication with your coach for on-going training feedback and advice.
We offer a few different tiers of online coaching programs based on your athletic needs. All programs include app access, 24/7 communication via the app messenger, and at least one call touch point every 4 weeks.

In a fast-paced world with work, family, friends and not forgetting the training – your plans can change. You try to re-arrange your in-person training session. You realize you cannot rearrange this session because it is the only available time slot for you and your coach. If you were to miss this training session, you would have no session plan to follow as you pay the coach to direct you through your program. Leading to you performing a sub par training session on your own. Spending most of your time deciding on what exercises to do next, never mind the sets, reps, and load. This can be frustrating especially when you have limited time to train.
This is the exact reason why we place our energy into developing our online coaching programs. We want to remove as many obstacles as possible that stop you from being the most consistent, confident, and dominant athlete you have ever been. We simply put you in the driving seat, giving you the control to quickly adjust your session time and keep up with your program. When you go out-of-town for the weekend, your training program goes with you. There are no excuses for you to miss a session.
Traditional in-person coaching involves you meeting with a coach every week, or every two weeks. What ends up happening is that your training lacks the right frequency, volume and intensity required. One training session per week with a coach is simply not enough. For sports performance improvements to occur, you need to place a substantial stimulus on the body at the right time to force the body to adapt. Even if you supplement this session with other group sessions, you will not get the attention required from the coach for you to improve consistently. How do you know that these group sessions have the same training goals as you? Group sessions often lack the quality and focus needed due to the wide range of attendee’s abilities and the coach's attention being spread too thin. Sport performance plateaus [stalls in your progress] is one of the biggest reasons why so many athletes give up on their aspirations and dreams.
Training consistency is one of the most underrated and undervalued concept in sports performance and athletic development. Our online coaching programs have you working with one of our coaches so you can get the attention and focus you deserve to be a consistent athlete and Xcel. The on-boarding process gives you the opportunity to clearly explain your background, and training and sport performance objectives. This process allows our coaches to get all the relevant information needed to tailor your program to meet your individual needs. If you are worried about your training experience and being new to specific modes of training [e.g. sprinting, running, weights]. Please do not be concerned! Our app allows you to send your coach videos of any exercise that you are struggling with so they can provide you with feedback and tips.
Do you offer any in-person services? On a strictly case by case basis, we can provide in-person coaching for those individuals based in Toronto, Canada. As you need to train at the right frequency, volume, and intensity, your program will be implemented using a blend of in-person coaching and online coaching.
